It's funny you say that, because that's probably why I love Von so much. I know it's not a perfect album ,but I'm a big space rock and shoegaze lover. I'm picky with shoegaze though. Some bands, like Lush get away with my liking for the nostalgia, but I prfer it for the true definition of what makes it so different from other music styles. Natually it's evolved over the years and the "indie" scene certainly have left some wounds, but I digress.
Von is just a great experience. Especially when you listen to a track that's ambient sounds before it dissolves into a track song. I used to love playing the 2nd and 3rd track back to back cause of that (I would do that on () also, but I can't recall which two tracks)
It's funnyI got into this with you because I was never a huge Sigur Ros fan or anyhting. I liked them and kept up withbuying their albums. I bought Agateus whatever you call it shortly before buying Takk, and I just became completely turned off. The vocals just really take me out. It's not that it's bad, its just like I said before. I prefer how he combined his vocals with the music in Von over anything else they've done.
Still, considering all the crap the music world keeps dispensing, Sigur Ros was definitely a breath of fresh air. I just hope they don't go down the stairs The Black Keys are beginning to descend and start trying to "appeal" to a wider audience. I always hate when a great band does that.
It's the same fucking boat! I don't mind When Sigur Ros is like that. Like () and that one EP after it, I don't mind that, I just can't stand Takk or That Ageatus Byrgqusudgufdhid one. I prefer their more Floyd/soundscape like stuff
Those vocals kill me when he tries to actually sing lyrics.
Yeah i have to see the finale still. Which I'm putting off, since I think it's all but confirmed to be the series finale. Such a fucking crime if you ask me.
