I'm quite glad I got to see it really early on because the hype did get a little out of hand. Overall I thought it was pretty good.

Same here...I really enjoyed it a lot. I think that's why so many people shit all over Haute Tension now as well. I saw it when the French DVD was first released, and with no subs, and was completely blown away by it. Keeping these films on the back burner for years before releasing them doesn't really do them any favors, it generally only hurts them.

The only part I hated about Haute Tension was the shitty ending. The rest I found to be entertaining and above decent.
Speaking of entertaining and above decent, that's the same I'd say about REC.

I STILL frustratingly haven't seen this film. I refuse to see Quarentine because I want to watch this first. FUCK!
