I've actually had this movie for awhile but haven't gotten round to watching it yet. Guess I'll have to find it amongst my collection and watch after your review.

well thank you. it is a slowly paced film and there is little to no on-screen violence (not that this should matter, but anyhoo), but i think its an amazing work.

I've actually never even heard of it, but it sounds damn good...will certainly add it to my list of films to watch now, especially since it'll be something I can watch guilt-free due to a review already being up

I'm here for ya buddy, no worries.

One thing I loved about this film was the director never insults your intelligence by having the characters blab on in awkward disposition. You are forced to figure things out through hints and small giveaways in the dialogue. And, there is nary an unauthentic moment...it is so realistic in it's depiction of a small town and how people must talk/act...

EDIT: I must confess that I first heard about this from Ebert's top films of '08...then I saw it in a bargain bin and had to have it.
